DNA Testing Overview
DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) is the unique genetic code found in nearly every cell of your body. Testing works by analyzing specific markers in a person's genetic profile and comparing them with another's to determine biological relationships or health traits. At Beacon, our samples are typically collected via a simple, painless buccal (cheek) swab or blood draw if required.

Which DNA Test Do You Need?
Legal DNA Testing
Requires strict Chain of Custody protocols and neutral third-party collection. Used for court proceedings, child support, social security claims, and immigration. Results are court-admissible and legally binding.
Non-Legal DNA Testing
Often referred to as 'Peace of Mind' testing. While processed with the same laboratory accuracy, it lacks the formal identification verification required by courts. Typically used for personal knowledge and curiosity.
